About

This recipe blog was created for a number of reasons. For my own use, this allows me to easily look up my favourite recipes and also to send them to friends on request without having to type them up in an email each time. In time, I hope to gather enough recipes to warrant making a recipe book for myself.

For others, I intend to write my recipes down in a way that is easy to follow. Many people in my generation complain that recipes are hard to understand, using terms like “a pinch of..”, “blanch” or “caramelize”. I will try to explain such terms as I go. Many other people in their late teens or early twenties just starting out on their own are starting to cook for themselves for the first time. I have included a Basics section with cooking instructions for some of the simplest things to go with any meal. Having a memory like a sieve, I often have to refer back to them myself.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or comments so that I can make this site as useful as possible. You can contact me at teya [dot] ca [at] gmail [dot] com or leave a comment.
